The objective of the course is:
To  deepen and broaden students’ knowledge of the effects of globalization on people's living conditions
To prepare students for intercultural encounters
To increase the theoretical awareness of how culture, religion, history, political and economic factors affect the meetings between people from different cultures
To deepen students’ knowledge of their own and others living
To give students the opportunity to work with a fiels study / project work

Course Plan
Global Knowledge B is as an individual choice and is designed to give students a global perspective with emphasis on the situation in developing countries. The course will focus on global issues with emphasis on human rights, development, resource allocation, environmental, cultural encounters and gender.  A vital part of the course is meetings with students from a developing country.  Global Knowledge B is divided into three phases: preparation, field trip, after work.  An important part of the course is to hold presentations of learnings and experiences for students and groups outside the school. The course will give a historical background to the situation in the region that the current exchange concerns.  Literary texts are included in order to broaden understanding of the philosophies of other cultures.
Method
The work is interdisciplinary. In order to deepen the understanding we use simulations Visits and external speakers are preparing students for their field trip.

Grade criteria

Pass:
Students have some knowledge and understanding of people's living conditions depend on many interacting factors.
Students have knowledge of human rights.
Students  can make comparisons between their own everyday life and everyday life for their peers in a developing country.
Students have knowledge of conditions in the region in which the course is aimed at.
Students can communicate their knowledge and impressions with some support.
Pass with distinction:
Students discuss and reflect on the various factors that affect people's lives.
Students are well versed in human rights, and may point to problems that may arise when they are not enforced.
Students reflect over their own daily lives and can make comparisons, based on  historical, political, economic and religious aspects, with youths in a developing country.
Students reflect on and discuss issues related to the region in which the course is aimed at.
Students may be in a reflective way to convey their knowledge and impressions.
Pass with special distinction:
Students can independently present and analyze the various factors that affect people's lives.
Students are well versed in human rights, and draw conclusions of the consequences when   they are not enforced.
Students analyze their own life situation and is able to illuminate it from a global perspective.
Students analyze conditions in the region in which the course is aimed at.
Students can with an analysis as the basis independently pass on their knowledge and impressions.
